UAE militias in Yemen support their counterparts in Libya

The vice president of the so-called “Southern Transitional Council” separatist Hani bin Brik expressed the readiness of the Yemeni separatists supported by the UAE to support the forces of General Khalifa Haftar in Libya, who is fighting his country’s government with the support of the UAE.

Hani bin Brik, a controversial Salafist leader close to Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, wrote that these days, Field Marshal Haftar is deciding against the Libyan government, or what he called the “militias” supported by Qatar and Turkey in the capital Tripoli.

“We are ready to help our brothers in Libya and send them our expertise and experience with the same militias hidden in legitimacy,” he said in a tweet on his Twitter account.

Hani ben Brik was at the forefront of the armed rebellion that led to the separatists’ control over the institutions of the Yemeni government in the southern city of Aden in the past few days.

Ben Brik’s tweet received a cynical reaction in Yemeni circles, as it seemed as if he had begun the task of “exporting the revolution,” according to Yemeni journalist Amer al-Dumaini.

The Yemeni government officially held the UAE responsible for the coup by the Southern Transitional Council militia, which was established and trained with unlimited support from the UAE, in the city of Aden

According to the Yemeni interior minister, nearly 400 Emirati military vehicles (delivered to the separatists) took part in the coup that toppled the remaining state legitimacy of state institutions in the city of Aden.

Ben Brik’s call comes in the context of counter-revolution, amid Haftar’s repeated failure to enter Tripoli or bring about a major military breakthrough against the Government of the National Accord government.

Several reports have talked about the use of Haftar militias from Sudan and Chad to fight alongside him, but they all failed so far to resolve the battle of Tripoli.

The UAE relies on criminal armed militias funded by money and weapons in both Yemen and Libya to serve its plots to spread chaos and sabotage and loot the wealth and capabilities of the two countries.
