UAE rebels perpetuate coup reality in Aden
The UAE-backed secessionist Southern Transitional Council is completing its political control of the interim capital of the legitimate government, Aden, in an effort to perpetuate the coup.
This is done by starting to divert the activities of state institutions in his favor and linking them to the de facto authority imposed by the UAE rebels after his military takeover of the province last Saturday, with military support from Abu Dhabi.
The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council issued a political statement, or what can be described as a political program, clarifying the Council’s practical steps and political orientations for the next phase after announcing the completion of its military control of Aden province last week.
The Council called on “States and international organizations to recognize it as a de facto authority to succeed the legitimate government in the south of Yemen, like the Houthi coup in the north, who turned against the legitimate government and invaded the capital Sana’a on 21 September 2014. The Council announced “the military and security control of the south and responsibility for public services there.”
Therefore, the Council ordered through his statement “the security and military agencies and various sectors of public health, educational, economic and judicial services in the southern governorates” to carry out their tasks, improve electricity, education and health services, address land problems, combat corruption and cronyism, activate the judiciary, prosecutors and police agencies, avoid treason, harness resources, build capacity and review import oil derivatives.”
The statement announced that “the withdrawal of all the powers and competencies of the legitimate government and official local authorities of the government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi,” which was unable to counter it and only issued a statement from Prime Minister Moin Abdul Malik, calling on his government and local government authorities not to obey orders and directives from what he described as “new coup” in Aden representatives of the Transitional Council.
The Prime Minister called on his ministers, governors, and heads of government bodies and institutions to “not allow dealing with any instructions issued by entities or entities not legally authorized to carry out any tasks or make appointments in the functional structure of their organs.”
He stressed the need to double efforts in dealing with challenges to the regular functioning of the central and local bodies under their supervision, and to ensure that full compliance with their legal management. The Yemeni Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday, the suspension of its work in the interim capital Aden, as a result of what it called “armed rebellion” led by the so-called Transitional Council on the institutions of the legitimate government.
About a week ago, forces from the UAE-backed Southern Transition took control of brigades and camps belonging to the legitimate government, after battles between the two sides ended in control of the presidential palace. The legitimate government considered it a “complete coup” on legitimacy in the interim capital, calling for the withdrawal of the transitional forces before any dialogue. The fighting left about 40 civilians dead, as well as more than 200 wounded, according to the United Nations, while neither side announced the deaths and injuries among its forces.
