UAE in Yemen… supporting insurgency and coup

149

The UAE has been pursuing its criminal war on Yemen for more than four years as it led aggressive conspiracies by supporting rebellion and coup campaigns against the legitimate government and establishing suspicious relations with terrorist organizations led by al-Qaeda.

In the last hours, the capital of the Socotra archipelago witnessed severe tension, after a battalion in the coast guard in Socotra declared its rebellion against the legitimate government and its accession to the southern transitional council supported by the Emirates.

The regimented battalion proceeded to download the flag of the Republic of Yemen from its headquarters on the island and raise the flag of the Transitional Council and the Emirates in a new step proving the seriousness of Abu Dhabi’s conspiracies on Yemen.

The move comes a day after the Transitional Council deployed its gunmen in the streets of Hadiboh, the administrative center of Socotra, in a sign of suspicious preparations for the separatists of the Emirates, especially as this step coincides with the start of the countdown to the Riyadh agreement, which ends in two days.

Socotra is one of the points of disagreement between the UAE and the legitimate government in Yemen, in light of Abu Dhabi’s announced efforts to control the island and acquire its capabilities in the future.

The commander of the Coast Guard and the director of security of the Port of the Socotra Archipelago, Muhammad Ahmad Al-Socotri, warned the elements of the rebel coast excavation battalion against approaching the port or compromising the safety and security of the city.

The UAE recently spread tension on Socotra Island and held meetings for its militia, including distributing weapons to its elements and large sums of money for military leaders, amounting to approximately 500,000 dirhams per person.

Socotra is considered the most important natural reserve in the country, but it faces an increase in the risks of its graduation from the World Heritage List due to the absurd practices of the Emirates.

The UAE is involved in the main damage to the island by bulldozing the natural life and buying lands and reserves that are distinguished by the great diversity of their endemic plants and embrace dozens of rare plant species.

Abu Dhabi also targets recreational resorts that destroy coral reefs, beaches where turtles nest and other types of reptiles and rare wild snails that are found in any region of the world except on Socotra Island.

Abu Dhabi also targets rare birds, whose number is estimated at more than 44 species, and has become threatened with extinction. The most threatening island that some call the island of happiness is the random buildings that most of the city’s people and influential people in the region have built in recent years.

Parallel to that, the problem of armaments appears through the support of the sheikhs and windows and encouraging them to ignite ongoing conflicts in Socotra and control it after weakening the legitimate government, as happened in the southern governorates.

The manifestations of arming negatively affected the interruption of the influx of tourists after they went to that island from all countries of the world.

In the middle of last December, the governor of Socotra, Mahrous, accused Emirati elements working in the governorate under a humanitarian cover, smuggling elements loyal to them, without being subject to the security and regular procedures by the airport authorities.
