Human Rights in the Emirates – Human rights circles demanded those responsible for severe violations against detainee of conscience Alia Abdelnour to be held accountable in the Emirates regime prisons on the anniversary of her death.

The Emirates Center for Human Rights condemned that “to this day, those responsible for all the violations that have been exposed to the late activist Alia Abdulnour have not been held accountable,” in reference to officials in the UAE system.

The center highlighted that Abdel-Nour “died after a cruel journey that started on the day of her arrest on 28 July 2015 and ended in a hospital room under guard on 4 May 2019”.

“The activist, Alia Abdel Nour, did not know that her charitable activity would be a charge that she sends to the interrogation room and then for years of suffering inside Al-Wathba prison in the Emirates,” the center said.

“Between enforced disappearance, unfair trial, torture and medical neglect, Alia spent her days deprived of her most basic rights until she died,” the center added.
