The crimes and schemes of the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East prompted a deputy in the American Congress to question the role of this country in the war of Yemen, in an effort to find an answer that “cures the sick.”

Representative Ilhan Omar expressed surprise at the international disregard for the UAE’s role in plunging Yemen into war and chaos.

Ilhan Omar wrote on Twitter: “In Yemen, the world has recognized Saudi Arabia and Iran’s role in the civil war that has devastated the country and caused the worse humanitarian crisis”.

“But UAE largely goes unnoticed in their role in plunging the country into war & chaos. I wonder why?” she added.

Yemeni officials repeatedly accused the UAE of supporting armed formations outside the legal authority and fueling conflicts and violence in separate areas of the country, especially the governorates of the Socotra archipelago in the east and Shabwa in the south and Taiz in the center.

In recent months, tension between the government forces and the separatist Transitional Council, backed by the Emirates, have escalated, especially after the latter announced on April 26 last year a state of public emergency, and the inauguration of what he called “self-management for the south.”

Despite the tension in the country that is experiencing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world as a result of the war that has lasted for six years, the Saudi and UAE coalition countries are seeking to establish a huge economic, oil, gas, tourism and investment colony that starts from a distance of 630 km from the Empty Quarter, the borders of the Kingdom and penetrates 320 km. The coasts and beaches of Socotra to the Arabian Sea, from which a fabulous marine water channel is constructed to the Empty Quarter.

In a report published last March, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) said that the UAE is still considered one of the ten most important countries that import weapons, and increased its import during the past five years, when it ranked eighth.

The UAE has ranked No. 8 globally among the largest arms importers in the world during the past five years (2015-2019). During the same period, the UAE imported 3.4 percent of global arms imports.

It received massive weapons from 17 countries during the same period, and the United States acquired 68 percent of the UAE’s arms imports.

The ruling regime in the Emirates continues its obsession with armament and the conclusion of military deals in millions to serve its conspiracy to expand and influence and wage wars and military interventions in many Arab countries.

The American “Digital Journal” website stated that the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency provided information in November 2019 that the US State Department had agreed to sell ten Chinook heavy lift helicopters to the UAE.

The UAE has previously ordered 10 CH-47F helicopters (Chinook) in addition to a wide range of related equipment. The equipment includes navigation system, weapons, an extended fuel system, communications equipment, sensors and protection systems. It also includes support and training, and the total cost will be $830.3 million.

The British newspaper “Sunday Times” felt that the UAE was showcasing its power in the region and would not give up its ambitions in Yemen even if the war stopped.

The newspaper said that the UAE is one of the most militarily intervening countries in the region. American generals in Afghanistan consider them “small spartans”, meaning that they are a military force dedicated to reshaping the delicate balance of power in the region.

She described the Emirates Army as well armed but with little experience. She asked: What is the point of expanding the small country that exaggerates playing a role greater than its size?

According to Atlantic American magazine, new policies started since 2015 in the Arab region, led by Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE, whose fundamental goal is to prevent the return of the Arab Spring revolutions completely.
