UAE and Israel conspire to stifle Palestinian resistance in Gaza following the war

Hebrew media outlets have revealed details of the UAE’s plot, coordinated with Israel, to suppress Palestinian resistance in Gaza after the war by imposing arrangements for managing the Gaza Strip in the event of a continued ceasefire and the conclusion of the Israeli war.

The information published by the newspaper “Israel Hayom” shows that Abu Dhabi initially agreed to take responsibility for managing Gaza after the war. Abu Dhabi aims to rebuild the region in a way that neutralizes any potential threat to Israel.

The newspaper stated that the UAE “is prepared to plant opposition to jihad and use Islam for violence in the Gaza Strip,” meaning that Abu Dhabi would work in favor of the Israeli occupation to suppress Palestinian resistance in the area.

For its part, the i24NEWS Hebrew channel site published what it called the key points of the Gaza Strip management plan for the post-war day, as formulated during talks between Israel and the UAE. The plan includes:

  • The formation of a transitional council for the Gaza Strip by decree from the President of the Palestinian Authority.
  • The number of members of the council will not exceed twenty.
  • The council will be responsible for managing life in Gaza and the reconstruction plans.
  • The council will also be in charge of preparing for presidential and legislative elections.
  • Elections will be held in the Gaza Strip and in Palestinian Authority areas simultaneously within 24 to 36 months.
  • The council will invite a temporary Arab security force and cooperate with it.
  • Cooperation with neighboring countries and foreign partners.
  • The council will also have representatives from Palestinian Authority territories as part of the overall Palestinian Authority plan.
  • The council and the Ramallah government will form a joint body for legislation, governance, and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
  • The council will establish a professional Palestinian security force.
  • A donor conference will be held to rebuild Gaza in conjunction with the establishment of the council.
  • Freedom of movement for people and goods to and from Gaza will be ensured.

i24NEWS reported yesterday that Israel and the United States are holding secret talks with the UAE to integrate it into the management of the Gaza Strip “in the aftermath.” The purpose of the plan is to form a temporary government in the strip until a “reformed” Palestinian Authority can govern instead of the council that will be formed.

Among the other options proposed was that the UAE and the United States temporarily oversee the management, security, and reconstruction of Gaza after the Israeli military withdrawal.

This comes as Aryeh Deri, head of the Shas party and a close ally of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the UAE at the invitation of Mohammed bin Zayed to discuss the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

According to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, this is the first public visit by the head of the Shas party to the UAE.

The authority stated that the visit discussed the next phases of the ceasefire agreement and efforts to strengthen cooperation between Israel and the UAE within the framework of the Abraham Accords and the existing open alliance between the two sides.

Shas is an extremist party representing religiously conservative Sephardic Jews in Israel, with representation in the far-right Israeli occupation government.
