Isolation of its delegation and formal complaints from countries against UAE in UN

Solitude and official complaints have followed the delegation of the UAE’s ruling regime when it participated in the annual meetings of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York over the past few days.

The UAE delegation has faced sharp Arab and international criticism as a result of blatant interference in the internal affairs of some countries, as well as human rights violations committed by state security agencies against activists and reformers in the country.

The UAE delegation was led by Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed, whose activities in New York were limited to meeting leaders of small and marginal countries to discuss economic interests rather than political affairs.

None of the leaders or officials of the major countries met the UAE minister, which justified to many observers the reasons for the absence of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed or the ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid of the international forum and fear of embarrassment because of isolation.

At the same time, Abdullah bin Zayed was keen on his annual habit of meeting secretly with an Israeli official.

In his address to the General Assembly, Abdullah bin Zayed reiterated the same annual statements in the UAE’s speeches, such as their right to sovereignty over the islands occupied by Iran, a talk that the Abu Dhabi government has been repeating without taking any action on the ground.

The UAE Foreign Minister stressed his country’s adherence to the political track and its participation in efforts to resolve all crises in the Middle East, including Libya, Yemen and Syria.

But what bin Zayed was unable to respond to the complaints submitted by Yemen and Libya of the UAE’s sabotage role in the two countries and public support for armed militias outlaws.

The legitimate government of Yemen has complained about the UAE and its criminal and aggressive practices in the country to the UN General Assembly on the sidelines of its annual meetings in New York.

Yemeni Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadrami said the UAE-backed transitional council had rebelled against power and that UAE warplanes bombed the Yemeni army when it confronted the council, adding that Iran was a sponsor of terrorism.

Al-Hadhrami added that the Transitional Council rebelled amid the Yemeni state’s headquarters in Aden, and that the Yemeni army was subjected to severe military strikes from the UAE aviation, which was a deviation from the objectives of the Alliance to support legitimacy in Yemen, as he put it.

For its part, the Libyan government used the internationally recognized meetings of the United Nations to launch an international movement to internationalize the issue of the intervention of the ruling regime in the UAE in the country and its subversive role with the support of militias war criminal Khalifa Haftar.

This movement was highlighted in the speech of the President of the Presidential Council of the Libyan government Fayez Al-Sarraj in his speech to the General Assembly of the United Nations by naming the UAE, Egypt and France as the countries supporting Haftar, and denouncing their position.

Al-Sarraj denounced the direct support of the UAE and Egypt to what he described as a war criminal and rebel Major General Khalifa Haftar as part of conspiracies to spread chaos and sabotage in the country.

In a speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, al-Sarraj called on the ICC prosecutor to investigate what is happening in his country and called for Haftar to be on the international sanctions list and hold his supporters accountable.

Al-Sarraj expressed regret that “Libya is going through a serious crisis due to negative foreign intervention,” criticizing the roles of the UAE, which “allowed itself to be a media platform for militias” and “Egypt, which wants to give lessons to Libya,” pointing to the finding of “French missiles”. In an area extracted by his forces from the forces of Haftar.

Al-Sarraj said government forces fought the Islamic State Organization and drove them out of Sirte. He said that “what encouraged the war criminal is that he has the support of foreign countries,” but stressed “we will defeat him no matter who supports him,” stressing his rejection of any dialogue with Haftar.

Al-Sarraj condemned the UAE’s stances in support of Haftar’s war on the capital Tripoli several months ago, while seeking to criminalize Haftar internationally as an important step to exclude him from the next scene.

Government committees in Libya have been working for a long time to deliver evidence to the ICC through its recognized representative to the ICC to “prove Haftar’s crimes” and its supporters, particularly the UAE.

A Libyan government official said that al-Sarraj’s emphasis on the need to send a fact-finding mission comes in this context to verify the credibility of the evidence sent in succession, pointing out that the trend is going well.
