UAE formally withdraws from Yemen and relies on its militias
Military sources in Yemen are skeptical about the withdrawal of UAE forces from the country’s southern provinces, and Abu Dhabi is working to rearrange its status as it relies on its militias to complete its plots to spread chaos and sabotage.
According to Yemeni sources, the withdrawal of the UAE represents a formal step aimed at imposing a new role for it through its proxies of local militias that have recruited and supported it financially and militarily during the past four years from its control over Aden and some other southern Yemeni governorates.
The UAE forces are engaged in a big conspiracy to mislead international public opinion about the fact that they are withdrawing from the interim capital Aden and other provinces such as Socotra and Hadramout, and seek to escape later on from any consequences.
Despite the formal withdrawal of UAE forces, Abu Dhabi continues to recruit militias through the so-called Southern Transitional Council and send them modern weapons, including thermal missiles.
Yemeni military sources expect that the UAE’s military support for the militias will be aimed at preparing for a military attack on the military camps of the legitimate government led by President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi in the provinces of Abyan and Shabwa or others, south and east of Yemen.
This comes as local sources in Aden revealed the arrival of new Saudi military forces, in the early morning of Wednesday, to the province of Aden, to strengthen its presence after the withdrawal of UAE forces from the past two weeks.
The sources confirmed the arrival of a new batch of Saudi forces to Aden aboard military transport planes to Aden International Airport, and then to the headquarters of the coalition forces in the region of Brega, Aden governorate, which is expected to be deployed in some vital institutions, especially Aden International Airport and the palace In addition, some are stationed at the coalition headquarters and the military base of al-Anad in Lahj governorate, adjacent to Aden.
Saudi and Sudanese forces, including soldiers, vehicles and heavy military equipment, arrived last week in Aden via the oil port in the Brega area, and were replaced at the locations where the UAE forces were stationed before announcing their withdrawal from the province.
The past few days have seen more Emirati withdrawals, both in terms of military forces and relief arms, represented by the UAE Red Crescent, which left Aden and demanded some of the institutions it supported earlier to return aid, sparking ridiculous comments among the Yemenis.
It is believed that the UAE forces withdrew was based on understandings with Saudi Arabia, including the exchange of roles between them in the field military presence in Yemen, in an attempt to defuse the crisis between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council, which rebelled militarily more than two months ago on the authority of the legitimate government in Aden and other southern provinces Military and material from the UAE.
The Yemeni government has filed a formal complaint against the UAE to the UN Security Council, accusing Abu Dhabi of officially supporting the southern insurgency against the country’s legitimate authority.
In the meantime, the UAE’s tools have recently begun to dramatically escalate their activity against the local government authority in Taiz governorate to disturb the political and security environment, although there are no Emirati forces there, but they also recruited thousands of young people there as part of local militias in Taiz under the cover of the coup resistance Houthis.

The UAE was the first supporter of the southern separatist council and its various armed groups and military formations during the past period, including direct military participation in the separatist war against the legitimate government, as in previous months, with the intervention of Emiratis to bomb Yemeni army forces loyal to legitimacy on the outskirts of Aden and Abyan, to save Their allies from collapse.
