UAE pays one of its mercenaries to lead political scene in Libya

For years, the UAE regime has been pushing one of its mercenaries in Iraq, Aref al-Nayef, to lead the political scene in the country and succeed the war criminal, retired general Khalifa Haftr.

The continuing failure of the military operation launched by Hafer has been a wake-up call for its allies. Abu Dhabi, in particular, has spent billions to change the Libyan situation to serve its interests and ambitions.

He pointed out that “the rulers of Abu Dhabi do not want to appear in the picture; so they commissioned the Egyptians to take over the subject.” He pointed out that there is “complicity in persuading Khalifa Hafter to form this government and to show it as political leadership and that it follows a civilian leadership.”

According to al-Shah, this step requires “giving an opportunity to the international envoy, Ghassan Salameh, to propose a political initiative to form a government, and to suggest that Khalifa Hafer follows a civilian leadership and to start a new negotiation with the government of national accord through this government.”

He explained that “the purpose of this process is to return a new political path that can avoid the tragedies of the aggression on the capital, and want to show a new political interface to start a new negotiating process to enable them to get what they can not get from the military attack.”

Observers say that the UAE is concerned about its interests in Libya, after it was confirmed that it lost the battle of Tripoli. It paid huge sums to support Haftar, and gave him all the necessary logistical and military, along with Saudi Arabia and Egypt with French support.

After the UAE realized the military failure, the UAE had no choice but to resort to the alternative plan of political action through a plan that would require the formation of a government of national unity headed by Aref al-Nayed.
