The UAE issued itself to play the role of the promoter of the American Deal of the Century to liquidate the Palestinian issue in an unprecedented continuation of its normalization engagement with Israel and taking a hostile stance towards the Palestinians and their rights.

The UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash tweeted before the League of Arab States meeting to discuss confronting the “Deal of the Century” at the invitation of Palestine, that “it is important that the meeting of the Arab League today and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation come out with a constructive position that goes beyond the condemned statements (denouncing the deal of the century), a position Realistic and positive strategy that faces the frustration of the past years, rejection and self-flagellation without having practical alternatives to historical accumulation that we pay for.

Gargash added, “Arab support and belief in the justice of the Palestinian cause is a positive and reliable asset that should not be wasted.”

And he added, “But it is not enough to change the balance of influence and power. The negotiating position can only be faced with a corresponding negotiating position, and what is presented is a starting point and does not necessarily mean its acceptance, and politics remains the art of the possible.”

Before that, Emirati Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed tweeted that he published an article for the American newspaper The New York Times, which read in his headline that “every time the Palestinians say they will not lose”, in an incident inciting the Palestinian rejection of the century deal.

The UAE ambassador to Washington, Yousef Al-Otaiba, attended the announcement of the “Deal of the Century” despite the previous Palestinian, Arab and Islamic calls rejecting the deal.

The UAE announced its support for the so-called “Deal of the Century” plan announced by US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite Palestinian categorical rejection of it.

And the UAE embassy in Washington published on its official website, saying that “the announced plan is an important starting point for returning to negotiations within an international framework led by the United States.”

“The UAE appreciates the ongoing American efforts to reach a Palestinian-Israeli peace agreement,” said Yousef Al-Otaiba, the Emirati ambassador in Washington.

He stressed that “this plan is a serious initiative that addresses many of the problems that have emerged over the past years.”
