Tens of thousands of UAE-supported militias sabotage Yemen
Governor of Shabwa, Muhammad Saleh bin Adyo, confirmed that the UAE had created anti-state militias in Yemen, including at least 90,000 mercenaries throughout Yemen who receive monthly salaries from Abu Dhabi to pursue the Emirate agenda and schemes.
Governor bin Adyo said that the Yemeni authority is interested in the issue of fighting the Houthi coup, as it is the most dangerous, but what the UAE has brought in the liberated areas is no less dangerous than the Houthi coup.
Bin Adyo added, “The UAE has created anti-state militias that are neither subject to nor subordinate to the state. They are parallel entities that have entered the state several times in wars and clashes and carry out attacks and assassinations.”
He added that these entities of 90,000 troops mercenaries from all liberated areas are paid monthly salaries from the UAE.
The governor stressed that these people “are not state employees but are mercenaries working with a foreign country. These forces are not subject to the Yemeni Ministry of Defense and are not subject to the Yemeni Ministry of Interior.”
The governor has more than once accused the United Arab Emirates of violating the Riyadh Agreement signed between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council on November 5, 2019.
The map of the conflict in Yemen is changing according to political considerations rather than military ones. It becomes a narrative of continuous futility that can be traced on all fronts of the fighting throughout the years of war.
