Abu Dhabi displaces residents of Al Mirfa
Informed sources confirmed that the Abu Dhabi government had sent notifications to the residents of Al Mirfa, which is located on the coast of the Arabian Gulf, to transport them to border areas between Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The Al-Watan Al-Khaleeji website said that the residents of Al Mirfa would be transferred to two new areas, namely Arada and Al-Khais, near the Sheba oil field, which the UAE is claiming.
Boughanim Twitter account stated that Al Mirfa residents will be transferred to the new cities within a year from now, after promises from the Abu Dhabi government to develop the two areas at the best level and modernize them completely.
It added that the residents of the Al Mirfa were given the citizenship recently in return for being sent to those disputed areas between Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The sources emphasized that the goal of the Abu Dhabi government in dividing the city of Al Mirfa from its residents on the coast of the Arabian Gulf is that it takes a strategic location on this coast.
Al Mirfa City
Al Mirfa is located on the western side of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The city overlooks the coasts of the Arabian Gulf to the west of Abu Dhabi.
It was known in the past as a special area for the gathering of fishermen, and many of its residents still work in the field of fishing.
It is now famous for being an important gathering point for divers coming from all the villages and cities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and starting from them on diving trips.
Al Mirfa City Islands
Al Mirfa city belongs to a number of islands located in the Arabian Gulf and overlooking it. The most important of which is Bu Tinah Island, which is located 160 km from the coast of the western region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The island was also nominated to be on the list of Seven Wonders of Nature out of a total of 261 nominated sites.
It managed to reach the semi-final stage among 77 other sites but was unable to reach the final stage and join the list.
