Protests have continued in European capitals against Russia against the ongoing invasion of Ukraine since February 24, amid a consensus condemning the UAE’s alliance with Moscow.

Dozens of activists from Ukraine and supporters of different European nationalities protested in front of the headquarters of the European Union in the Belgian capital, Brussels, to demand the imposition of sanctions against Russia and its ally, the UAE.

The sit-in, which was organized in conjunction with a session to discuss the new package of European sanctions against Brussels, included activists representing the reality of corpses in the streets of Ukraine due to the Russian invasion of the country.

The protesters chanted slogans calling for sanctions against Russia and its ally, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, who provides a safe escape from international sanctions for the Russian rich in the UAE.

This month, protesters prevented Russian vehicles from refuelling in Brussels as part of popular mobilizations against Moscow’s war on Ukraine.

Dozens of European and Ukrainian activists staged a sit-in in Brussels to protest against the Russian war on Ukraine and the support provided by Moscow’s allies, led by the UAE.

The sit-ins took place in front of 13 stations of the Russian Oil and Gas Company (Lukoil) in Brussels to prevent the sale of Russian petroleum products and demand the severance of all economic relations with Moscow.

The demonstrators raised banners denouncing Russia’s war on Ukraine and Moscow’s support for authoritarian regimes such as the UAE.

The demonstrators carried pictures of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the de facto ruler of the Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed, describing them as perpetrators of war crimes.

Before that, dozens of activists from Ukraine and other European countries demonstrated against the import of gas from Russia, and the UAE, against its support for Moscow’s invasion of Ukrainian lands.

The demonstration took place in the port of Antwerp in Belgium, and the participants raised banners against the UAE and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed, who provides a haven for the rich of Russia from European and international sanctions.

The demonstrators demanded more international sanctions against Russia and the imposition of similar sanctions on the UAE to stop its support for Moscow and its shameful stances supporting authoritarian regimes.

A sign carried the phrase: “The UAE provides refuge to the Russians from European sanctions.”

The demonstration reflects the growing manifestations of widespread anger in Europe against the UAE, its ruling regime, and its policies to spread chaos and sabotage in the Middle East, support tyranny, and oppose democracy.
