Exclusive Scandal : UAE bribe Michael Gahler MEP, other MEPs to condemn Qatar

Exclusive information received by Emirates Leaks confirmed that Michael Gahler MEP has been informally hired by United Arab Emirates embassy in Beussels to lead anti Qatar motion in European Parliament this week. According to our sources, the former German diplomat and politician who has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament since 1999; has been paid more than €470,000 in less than 12 months between Jan to October 2022.

Gahler who is member of the Christian Democratic Union, part of the European People’s Party, held secret meetings with Emirate’s ambassador in Brussels and also visited Abu Dhabi more than one time. Gahler MEP received the figure in part of cash and also to other bank accounts related to family members and companies he own.

Additionally, Gahler has recently acted indirectly on behalf of UAE interest in Sudan where he visited the country to grant credibility to the UAE backed Sudan’s Government. The revelation come through an Emirati website, Zawya which is owned by one of the Abu Dhabi sheikhs.

Few months earlier Gahler was also involved in another Emirati mission to back the new dictator of President Kais Saied. The delegation of Gahler was featured by Saudi Newspaper, Arab News.

Gahler gave a cover for his delegation from the parliament’s foreign affairs committee which also included MEPs Javier Nart, Jakop Dalunde and Andrea Cozzolino.

Our sources also confirmed that meetings took place in Brussels and Berlin between UAE ambassador to Brussels Mohamed Al Sahlawi. Another meeting has also included a controversial Emirati politician, named Dirar Belhoul Al Falasi. The meeting discussed leading efforts to undermine Qatar credibility and downplay migrant workers reforms.

This week the efforts of Michael Gahler MEP were at highest record ever where he led a campaign to denounce Qatar’s World Cup 2022. He pushed a number of MEPs to support his motion and also caught “drafting amendments” for MEPs Nacho Sánchez Amor, Tonino Picula.
