UAE used its foreign media arms to incite against the Gulf reconciliation

The UAE regime launched its external media arms to incite the Gulf reconciliation in light of Abu Dhabi’s hostile stance.

The London-based Al-Arab newspaper, funded by the UAE, has led the media incitement campaign under Abu Dhabi’s orders.

The newspaper published several articles questioning the future of the Gulf reconciliation and inciting against Qatar and others attacking Kuwait, which mediated to end the crisis.

Attacking Qatar

Followers and observers of developments in the Gulf were surprised at the movement of some Emirati arms to seek to thwart the Gulf reconciliation in its cradle and oppose the efforts of the Emir of Kuwait in reaching an agreement that ends the blockade of Qatar.

Al-Arab newspaper published a report in which it was exposed to Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, who deserved the honour of reaching an agreement ended the siege of Qatar.

On the first page, a broad headline appears: “An internal crisis surprises the enlivened Emir of Kuwait with the success of his mediation between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.”

It is noted that the newspaper published several articles that underestimate what was achieved in Al-Ula and question Qatar’s intentions, and are betting on the failure of reconciliation.

Observers also noted that the Emirati Arab newspaper considered what is achieved by Qatari-Saudi reconciliation and does not indicate any commitment from the UAE and the other siege capitals, namely Abu Dhabi, Manama and Cairo, with what was agreed upon at the Gulf summit.

Several tweeters commented on social networking sites that the UAE, so far, does not seem to be moving towards appeasement or on the path of reconciliation.

Evade the entitlements of reconciliation

Yesterday, informed sources revealed to Emirates Leaks that the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the Emirates de facto ruler, Mohammed bin Zayed, has stopped communicating with Saudi Arabia.

The sources said that bin Zayed’s move aims to evade the Gulf reconciliation entitlements, which was announced a few days ago with the State of Qatar.

The sources stated that Saudi Arabia is trying to exert pressure on the UAE to announce actual steps towards lifting Qatar’s blockade.

They added that bin Zayed met the Saudi move by temporarily halting all contact and expressing his persistent negative stance on reconciliation.

According to the sources, bin Zayed prefers to wait for developments in the regional and international scene before taking any steps regarding lifting the blockade of Qatar.

They emphasized that bin Zayed still ruled out opening the borders and flights with Qatar, based on his position against Doha and conspiring to continue the Gulf crisis.
