Israel is using its planned participation at the Dubai World Expo 2020 as a new window to further normalize relations with the state amid suspicious complicity from the UAE system.

The Israeli media revealed a video of the pavilion that it intends to hold at the Expo 2020 in Dubai, the first Israeli pavilion in an Arab country.

Israel hopes that through the exhibition, Dubai will become a gateway to normalization with the Arab world, especially since it is possible to allow Israelis to visit the exhibition.

The Hebrew newspaper “Yediot Aharonot” said that the video was prepared by the company that was chosen to plan and set up the Israeli pavilion at the exhibition, after it was prepared previously at the Expo 2015 in Milan, Italy.

In the video, Lucy Ayoub, born to an Arab father and a Jewish mother who served in the Israeli army, shows the Israeli wing and represents Israel in its Arabic language.

The newspaper said that Israel’s participation in the exhibition has not yet been announced to allow Israelis to visit the UAE during the six months of the show, noting that the Israeli Foreign Ministry refused to comment on this, although the Israeli project engineer David Kanfo held a series of meetings in Dubai, and pointed out that he visited the UAE about a week and a half ago and presented the project to the exhibition management. He also met with the construction company, which is supposed to build the Israeli wing.

According to Kanfo, he is “convinced that Israelis will be able to visit the exhibition when it opens.”

Israel sees the exhibition as an opportunity for exposure to the Arab world, and hopes to establish new relations. Accordingly, Arabic was defined as “a basic language in the Israeli wing,” noting that shortly after the enactment of the Nationality Law, which removed Arabic as the official language of the country.

In April, Israel announced its participation in the World Expo in an escalation of the shame of normalization in which Abu Dhabi is involved.

Israel will participate in the conference to explore innovative solutions in the fields of energy, water, transportation systems and logistics, which will be held in Dubai in October next year.

At the time, Israeli public radio reported that the Israeli Foreign Ministry expressed its satisfaction for this participation, as Israel will present its technological innovations in the fields of medicine, water, information technology and others.

For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that this is further evidence of Israel’s growing position in the world and the region.
