The European Microscope for Middle East Issues said that the United Arab Emirates had escalated its incitement campaigns against the State of Qatar by reactivating its propaganda arm Maat Foundation for Peace Development and Human Rights.

The European Microscope stated that the Maat Foundation, with Emirati financial funding, organized a symposium to incite the human rights file in the State of Qatar without providing evidence or proof.

Al-Maqhar explained that the symposium did not receive any interaction or tangible presence, despite an attempt to market it by holding it on the sidelines of the 50th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

He pointed out that the Maat Foundation supported with sums of money the speakers in the conference who presented themselves as being active in the human rights file, namely Tal from Abdullah Al-Malki and Malcolm Bidali.

The conference included open incitement regarding the file of migrant workers in Qatar on the eve of hosting the 2022 World Cup and what it claimed were restrictions on freedom of opinion, expression, peaceful assembly and association.

The European Microscope highlighted that the UAE lobby in Europe recently escalated its incitement campaigns against Qatar and focused on the workers’ file, especially with the approach of the World Cup finals.

The ruling regime in the UAE pays sums of money in the millions to mercenaries claiming to be human rights figures to practice incitement and distortion against Abu Dhabi’s opponents and to cover up the state’s black human rights record.

The UAE is funding a fictitious human rights lobby that has been active in Europe for years to serve the conspiracies of the UAE, which pours money on figures, the least described as mercenaries, who adopt the approach of their masters in Abu Dhabi with security instructions.

At the fore in the spectacle of the fake lobby of the UAE, these days is the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights, to which millions have been pumped from Abu Dhabi to intensify the attack on Turkey, Qatar and other opponents of Abu Dhabi.

At the beginning of this year, the European Microscope investigation revealed contracts worth millions of dollars signed by the United Arab Emirates with a Swiss centre as part of Abu Dhabi’s plans to launder its reputation.

The European Microscope stated that the Geneva Center for Security Policy was involved in signing suspicious agreements with the UAE and institutions loyal to it in exchange for contracts in the millions.

The investigation revealed that the Swiss Center had been financially bribed by the UAE and institutions loyal to it over the years to recruit those responsible for it to the list of the Emirates Human Rights Lobby in Europe.

The Swiss Center’s most recent contract with the UAE was signing a memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi-funded Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights on Thursday, January 20.

The agreement, which was signed in the Swiss capital, Geneva, according to what Maat announced, requires that it continue for the next five years within the framework of the institution’s interest in promoting a culture of human rights and supporting the building and maintaining peace, security and stability at the national, regional and international levels, as it claims.

The financial value of the agreement was not announced, but documents reviewed by the European Microscope showed millions of dollars that the UAE would allocate for the activities of the Geneva Center, which claims to be working in the field of disarmament and international security, by organizing activities and holding training courses.
