A delegation from the UAE intends to make its first official visit to Israel within days, as part of steps to consecrate normalization between the two sides.

Reuters reported that the Emirati delegation will visit Israel on the 22nd of this month, in response to the visit by an Israeli delegation to Abu Dhabi last week, to continue discussions on drafting the terms of the normalization agreement between the two parties.

A source familiar with the matter indicated that the visit to Israel would set the date for the signing ceremony for the normalization agreement at the White House later this month. This will be the first announced visit to Israel by an official Emirati delegation.

The Israeli Channel 12 announced earlier that the UAE and Israel will sign a peace treaty on the 22nd of this month at the White House in the United States, but the announcement of the arrival of the Emirati delegation to Israel may indicate that the agreement will not actually be signed on that date.

On August 13, Israel and the UAE announced that they would normalize diplomatic relations according to an agreement brokered by the United States and praised by Washington and Israel as a breakthrough, while the Palestinians rejected it.

Israeli Intelligence Minister Eli Cohen said that the bilateral trade trade between Israel and the UAE is expected to reach 4 billion dollars.

“Within 3 to 5 years, the bilateral trade between Israel and the UAE will reach 4 billion dollars,” Cohen told the Israeli “Reshet Bet” radio.

The Israeli airline “Israir” said on Sunday that it had booked seats for commercial flights from Tel Aviv to the UAE in preparation for possible tourist trips.

The heads of the two largest banks in Israel will travel to the UAE this month, in the first visit since the two countries agreed to normalize relations.

Meanwhile, the UAE League for Resisting Normalization denounced the Arab League’s decision to abstain from holding an emergency meeting to discuss developments in normalization between the UAE and Israel.

The Emirati League confirmed in a press statement that the Arab League lost its credibility long ago after neglecting to talk about the pain and current problems of Arab peoples.
