Military sources in Yemen have warned of aggressive moves by UAE militias in Marib within the Abu Dhabi plots to gain influence and expand in the context of its criminal war that has burdened the country for more than four years.
The sources reported military arrangements made by the commander of joint operations, Sagheer bin Aziz, who is loyal to the Emirates, to wrest control of the Sarawah front on the outskirts of the city of Marib.
According to a source, Bin Aziz, after working throughout the past months to attract military and tribal leaderships, began issuing instructions to these leaders to control the field and extract control over the Sarwah front.
And the source indicated that Bin Aziz became the final command in many military matters, and he became the de facto Minister of Defense, and the leaders cannot violate it for fear of being assassinated or being targeted by air strikes by the Saudi-Emirati coalition.
The sources said that on Wednesday, Bin Aziz spent seven armored crews and two double helicopters 2019 for the leader Saif Al Shaddadi, commander of the 159th Infantry Brigade, and his force is expected to be transferred to Sarwah.
This comes as Yemeni Minister of Interior Ahmad Al-Misiri asked for clarification from the Saudi-Emirati coalition regarding the bloody attack on a training camp for the National Army in Marib, and stressed that the relationship with Saudi Arabia should be similar.
Al-Misiri said in TV statements that the attack that targeted the Fourth Brigade camp last Sunday, presidential protection and killed 115 people, not the first and will not be the last, considering that consolation is not enough in what happened to the Yemeni soldiers in bulk.
He added that the Saudi-Emirati alliance should provide a clear answer to what happened, because it is he who owns the Yemeni airspace.
Sources reported that the camp was bombed by a ballistic missile and drones, and the Yemeni government accused the Houthi group of carrying out the attack, while the Houthi leader Mohammed Al-Bakhiti said that if the Houthi group carried out the attack, it would have adopted it.
The Yemeni Minister of the Interior affirmed that the Yemeni government will not neglect the sovereignty of Yemen, and will only accept a relationship with Saudi Arabia.
Al-Missari added, “Legitimacy will deal with the Saudi brothers on the basis of what it touches on the ground.” He said that the Kingdom should not go the way the UAE took in Yemen.
He also said that the Saudis should realize that the interests they are looking for come from the door, not from the window.
Regarding the Riyadh agreement signed last November between the Yemeni government and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, the Yemeni Interior Minister said that the legitimate government will not be patient for long with the disruption of the terms of the Riyadh agreement.
He added that there is an attempt to circumvent what was stated in the Riyadh agreement, and to interpret some of its articles in a moody manner, adding that “the transitional council or the remainder of the Emirates project in Aden does not realize that we can enter and finish it without the agreement.”
